Abundance

There’s never an end to the goodness of God.

The Bible is overflowing with description after description of God.

One can learn God for a lifetime and never reach the end of Him.

God is our strength and refuge.

Psalm 46:1 NKJV — “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.”

Story after story is listed in the Scriptures of how God gave both strength and refuge to the people Israel and many individuals.

God sees the heart.

He knows the truth of every matter.

When we are wronged we need not defend ourselves.

Psalm 59:9 NKJV —” I will wait for You, O You his Strength; For God is my defense.”

He is the Judge.

Psalm 50:6 NKJV —” Let the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is Judge. Selah”

His verdicts are always best.

God is the King of all kings.

Psalm 47:7 NKJV — “For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.”

He was before them all, and will be here when their histories are forgotten.

God is holding our very lives.

He wants to help, guide, and direct each person.

Psalm 54:4 NKJV — “Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life.”

Jesus is the Savior.

Psalm 62:7 NKJV —”In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.”

What can mankind ultimately do if one’s soul is safely in the hands of God?

There is no pain which lasts past the grave if the soul is safe with Jesus.

Psalm 68:20 NKJV —”Our God is the God of salvation; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.”

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
John 3:16‭-‬17 NKJV

What an incredible picture of God we see in only a few verses.

And there’s so much more.

Praise the Lord!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for showing us Yourself. Thank You for giving us the Word that we might learn about You. Thank You for coming in flesh to save us from sin and eternal separation. Please, continue to open my mind to Who You are. Please help me to live out these truths. Thank You, Jesus for Your goodness!

“…His way is perfect;”

2 Samuel 22:31 KJV — As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

As for God, His way is perfect.

Can the human mind actually comprehend our perfect God?

Mistakes and messes are ordinary.

Selfishness and stress the usual.

Overloaded and unable the common.

But that is sinful mankind.

When eyes are removed from self and those struggling humans walking along side, God’s perfection becomes easier to see.

Look at a single snowflake.

None of them are the same, yet they are stunningly beautiful.

Pay attention to the miracle of a newborn calf learning to stand and then walk.

No one teaches them how.

See the lacey intricacies of a spider’s web and marvel.

Not all spiders even make webs, but the incredible detail and engineering are astounding.

Ponder the fingerprints of a human.

Not one is reused, every single person’s are unique.

Yes, God is perfect.

Even though sin has entered to ruin both the miracles of creation as well as our relationship with the Creator, He has a solution.

The Savior.

Find true peace and put your trust in the perfection of salvation: Jesus.

Isaiah 43:11 NKJV — I, even I, am the LORD, And besides Me there is no savior.

Light

The circumstance when you’re trying to get through unfamiliar territory in the form of a dark room and someone turns on the overhead light:

Illuminating.

The time when you are driving in the pouring rain, windshield wipers full bore, and the clouds break, you drive out of the storm, the sun flitters down:

Longed for.

When, as a child, your fears creep in and your mind is choked and the comfort of a single small light glowing from the wall in the figure of Mickey Mouse gives way to sweet slumber:

Comfort.

That moment when the stains of the past grip your heart in cold painful fingers and refuse to release you from the past suddenly, the truth shines in. Someone has paid the price, the prison cell is open and freedom from sin stands before you in the simple yet profound choice of asking for it:

Savior.

How many different ways light can effect?

What a wonderful picture that even the smallest child prefers to be in the light.

Our souls long for the things that darkness (otherwise known as sin and wickedness) strive to put out of the world:

Peace
Joy
Freedom
Love
Patience
Kindness
Friendship
Companionship
Purpose
Calling
Fulfillment
Understanding
Comfort
Healing
Encouragement

There are all of these things in the Light:

John 8:12 “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world, he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’”

If you are struggling in the darkness of despair, discouragement, worry, grief, loss, brokenness, illness, or any of the others, remember:

you do not have to stay there.

Look to the Light and find hope in Jesus Christ.

Not sure where to start?

Read the Gospel of John.

Open your heart to Jesus Christ and let His light shine upon your soul.

Choose to leave fear and doubt.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You so much for light. Light of the Sun, light from bulbs, even the flashlight on my phone. Each one reminds me of how incredible You are. Your light shines into my heart and heals and restores me. It teaches me how to walk with You and how to avoid sin. Please, help me not only to see Your light, but to be the Moon and reflect You wherever I go. I love You, Jesus. Thank You.

He is with me!

(This is a guest post from Bell.)

Every step I take is harder.

How can I keep on?

How can I keep walking?

How can I keep following?

He says to deny myself and pick up my cross and follow Him. But how can I keep walking with this burden on my back?

The pain is almost unbearable. I shake from the fear. I fall to the ground unable to pick myself up.

But then I heard Him. He came to me and whispered to me. His calming voice coming into my ears. His arms around me.

The pain is gone!

My strength is back!

He has fulfilled my emptiness.

He has carried me.

He has taken me burden away.

His love fills me.

Now I know I can make it.

I can walk on!

I can follow Him!

I know I can do it in His strength, not in my own.

He calls me and says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

He is with me!

Jesus, my Savior.
