Today’s prayer:

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
Psalms 2:12 NKJV

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your patience. You are long-suffering and full of mercy. Your ways are good and Your paths are perfect. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice and for Your love. Lord, today I look to You and I humbly request that You place Your hand upon my life and the lives of my loved ones. Lord, please purify our hearts and minds that we might serve You without hindrance. Lord, please purify Your people, let hearts be drawn to You and that they might put away anything which would stand in the way of serving You fully. Lord Jesus, please heal our land. Let the hearts of the people be drawn to You, to find salvation and to learn to walk with integrity. Lord, please let Your name be known throughout the world, for You are the God who sees us. Thank You for Your love. I love You, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s prayer:

Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,
Romans 15:5 NKJV

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You. These words are encouraging. Please let it be so. Let Your church be of one mind. Let the church be unified and pure before You. Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself to each of us, that we might see and know You personally, that our lives might be purified by Your Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus, hold us in Your hands and teach us from Your Word. Let Your light so shine among us that we repent from everything which is contrary to Your Spirit. Lord, make us like Yourself. Lord Jesus, make me into Your image. Please continue to teach me humility, honor, and truth. My life is Yours, do with me as You will. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for Your love. Amen.

A fresh new day

I awoke after bad dreams.

My heart felt the need to pray.

After a while of laying quietly in bed, I removed to pray where I wouldn’t disturb my husband.

Several people came to mind as I prayed.

Both those who have sent me prayer requests and those who have not.

Of course I prayed for each member of my family.

Eventually, I returned to bed, but not to sleep.

Since, I wasn’t able to sleep I continued to pray.

Just before my husband’s alarm went off, I got up.

Headed to the kitchen to make his lunch.

Made a cup of tea.

I’ve had a desire to make some freezer meals, both for us and our son and daughter who are expecting.

Yesterday, God blessed me with the energy to make some and I’m already well underway at more this morning.

I stopped briefly to eat, take my meds, and reflect.

The early morning light on the back garden is lovely.

And it occurred to me that this is a fresh new day.

Clean, without spot, and Jesus is giving me another opportunity to serve.

Sometimes service means rest and prayer.

Other times it means hard work and patience.

Often it means surrendering my schedule to His plans.

But whatever this day’s service is, I do it for the Lord.

After all, He gave me the day, shouldn’t I use it to honor Him?

Therefore, while I’m doing the task at hand, I’ll be praying and praising God.

After all, He is worthy.

Psalm 18:3 KJV — I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for this fresh new day. Thank You for giving me life and tasks to complete. Lord, thank You for Your Word, which teaches, guides, and encourages me, daily. Lord, I want to live unto You this day. Please help my thoughts, my attitudes, and actions to align with Your will and Your Word. Thank You! Amen.

Carried by praise

Psalm 28:7 KJV — The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

I’ll be honest.

This week has been challenging.

It wasn’t one thing especially.

More like a bad knot in a favorite necklace.

It’s complicated, and just pulling on one part does nothing but tighten it.

But as I walked through the week, I found my heart and soul being carried.

With each difficult circumstance I found my soul praising God.

I didn’t always even think about it.

Often, I’d just begin saying, ” Jesus, You alone are worthy.”

Sometimes it was, “Almighty God, Most High, You alone are worthy.”

Other moments it was, “Lord Jesus, to You belongs all honor and power and praise!”

But a few times, when my heart was troubled more deeply than the others it was simply, “God, I know You are worthy. I trust You.”

And in this my heart was carried through.

Although the week is ending, I’m not certain the circumstances have.

I don’t know exactly how to untangle the knot, but I know who does.

And I know, no matter what He has my best interests at heart.

He will see me through.

His way is best.

I trust Him.

And I praise His holy name.

Psalm 7:17 KJV — I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
