Lord, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me. Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord From this time forth and forever. Psalms 131:1-3 NKJV
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for speaking so clearly to us. Lord, thank You for continuing to bring profound truth through Your Word. Lord Jesus, thank You for the peace that surpasses all understanding found in these lines. To sit with You as a young child secure in their parent, just being content to be close. Lord, that is what I want, today. Please help my heart to just sit quietly, to rest in Your Sovereignty, to find peace in Your truth. Lord Jesus, I am a small child who needs the guidance and direction of my Heavenly Father. Thank You for always being good, always trustworthy, always loving. Thank You for the incredible lengths You went to save us. Thank You for Your wondrous works daily. Thank You for loving me. I love You. Amen.
Psalm 4:5 KJV — Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your Word. Thank You that You have given us clear direction as to what we are to offer as a sacrifice of righteousness. Lord, Your Word and Your life speaks clearly that we are not to live unto ourselves and our selfish desires and ambitions. We are to live in such a way that our actions, attitudes, and words are a reflection of You, Your goodness, Your holiness, Your truth. We are to remember that all we have is not our own, but was given by You and we are merely stewards. For the follower of You, the sacrifice is nothing compared to what You paid to redeem us. Lord Jesus, thank You that in offering sacrifices of righteousness we are better able to trust You, for it is through giving all back into Your hands we find peace in surrender. Lord Jesus, thank You. I give You this day. I give You my concerns and fears. I give You my future. Most of all, I give You all praise and glory, for You are righteous and Your Word is enough. I love You, Jesus. Thank You for first loving me.
Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. Psalms 100:1-5 NKJV
John 16:19 NKJV — Now Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and He said to them, “Are you inquiring among yourselves about what I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’? John 16:20 NKJV — “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your sacrifice. Thank You for giving us such an incredible gift in Yourself and in Your Word. Thank You that You clearly spoke to Your disciples about what was coming, although they didn’t understand at the time, they did understand after You rose again. Lord Jesus, help each of us to place our faith in You and not to fall away due to unbelief. Lord, I believe in Your Word, in Your truth, in Your promises, please help my unbelief. Grow me in Your righteousness and let faith cover doubt and love replace fear. Lord, make me so like You that people never mistake Your work in me and through me as anything to my credit, let them only glorify You. Thank You for Your love. Thank You for salvation. I love You, Jesus and I praise Your holy name! Amen.
Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? James 3:10-11 NKJV
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Word, which cuts down to the heart. For a tongue that speaks blessings to God and curses to our neighbor is attached to a heart which has issues. Lord, please continue to purify my heart, that my tongue might not sin against others. Lord, please fill my heart with Yourself, that my words might overflow in blessing, encouragement, edification, and truth. Lord, truth is not always what we want to hear, but I humbly request that You continue to pour into me Your truth through Your Word and Your Holy Spirit. Please instruct me in the ways of righteousness and walk me forward into Your truth. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
Malachi 2:2 NKJV — If you will not hear, And if you will not take it to heart, To give glory to My name,” Says the LORD of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, And I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, Because you do not take it to heart.
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for teaching us the correct way, that we can walk in it. Thank You that You warn us of the consequences of walking counter to Your Word. Lord, thank You for reminding us that Your blessings are to engender praise and thanksgiving, that we are to be generous and open-handed with the blessings You give. Lord, please continue to hone our hearts and minds through Your Word. Please continue to teach us Your truth and the path our feet are to walk. Lord, thank You for Your salvation, the greatest blessing of all. Lord, if there be an area in which I’m not humble, generous, and surrendered before You, please show me that I might repent quickly and change. Lord, please help me to live in such a way, that I’m honoring You with my actions, my attitudes, my words, and my thoughts. Thank You for loving me and working in my life daily. Lord, You alone are worthy of all honor, glory, and praise! Amen.
2 Chronicles 16:8-9 NKJV — “Were the Ethiopians and the Lubim not a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, He delivered them into your hand. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for being so faithful. Thank You that You give us consequences to our actions, that we might learn to obey Your commandments, for in them is life and truth and protection. Lord Jesus, too many times, I have forgotten to check with You about a circumstance and have always regretted responses which are led by my flesh. Please continue to hone my heart and help me to be wise, honorable, full of integrity, truth, and Your Word. Lord, continue to help me to look at Your Word for guidance on how to respond to others and circumstances. Please convict me of sin, that I might repent and turn away from it. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love and truth. Thank You for holding me, providing for me, and supplying all. Thank You for those things I see as good and those I see as bad, because I know You are working throughout. Lord, thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace. Lord, please protect the innocent, return the prodigal, defend the helpless, set free the captive, heal the broken, and save the lost. Thank You that You are always doing these things. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
Luke 13:29 KJV — And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You so much for extending Your salvation to every nation, every tribe, every people. Thank You for being so gracious and merciful. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your chosen people, who were responsible for keeping the scriptures safe and for preserving Your truth for so many generations. Lord Jesus, You alone are worthy of all glory, praise, and worship. Lord, thank You for teaching us so many things. How exciting it is to walk with You daily and find true peace through Your Word and Holy Spirit. Lord, it is in You we find direction, purpose, and courage to continue on, no matter the circumstances. Lord, may Your name be glorified throughout the whole earth, let every tribe, every tongue, sing forth Your praises. Please encourage those who are called by Your name this day. Thank You. Amen.
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV — Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your promises. Thank You that in the scriptures we can find encouragement, direction, and comfort. Lord Jesus, I trust You for today and I thank You for the tasks at hand. Lord, please teach me how to prepare for tomorrow without worry or trying to do things in my own strength. Lord Jesus, please bring us to a place of understanding and patience, that we might honor You in all we say and do. Lord, let there be a hunger and a thirst after righteousness. Let us walk with You in integrity and truth. I praise Your holy name for all the blessings You have poured out. Thank You for Your provision and for the truth of Your Word. Lord, thank You for Your sacrifice. Please help us never forget the costly price You paid for our salvation. I love You, Jesus. Amen
Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; With flattering lips and a double heart they speak. May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaks proud things, Who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; Who is Lord over us?” “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.” The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. You shall keep them, O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever. The wicked prowl on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men. Psalms 12:1-8 NKJV
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Word. Lord. Jesus, this psalm speaks for me today, I hear the depth of this cry and I can understand. Lord, we wait for You. I know You have all things in Your hands. Your ways are perfect. Please continue to keep us established in Your Word and clinging to Your righteousness, Your mercy, Your grace, and the beauty of Your salvation. While we wait filll us with peace, comfort us with hope, and guide us with Your truth. Lord, please protect the innocent, return the prodigal, provide for the needy, and save the lost. Thank You for continuing Your good works and that we can trust You. We love You Jesus. Amen.
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19 KJV
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Word. How I thank You for Your salvation and I look forward to the time of refreshing. Lord Jesus, my heart aches from the sin and the spread of darkness. Lord, shine brightly before all mankind and let them see You are the only way. Your Word is truth, Your way is right, and without You there is nothing but suffering and hopelessness. God, show Yourself powerful and redeem those called by Your name. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
