Proverbs 8:12-13 NKJV — “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.”

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your wisdom. Thank You for Your Word which gives clear instruction. Please, help me to recognize evil quickly and turn away from it. Lord, please help me to remember to love my enemies, even while I am rejecting wickedness. Lord, keep me from perverse speech, deal quickly with pride and arrogance in my heart. Lord, that I might repent and be cleansed. Thank You for Your faithful patient endurance, teaching and training me, showing me the way to go. Lord, please help me to encourage others and focus upon the good You are working in their lives. Please let my words be edifying and my actions honorable before You. Lord, thank you for continuing to build my foundation through your word on the council of Holy Spirit. I praise your Holy name Jesus. Amen.

Psalm 21:1 NKJV — To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV — Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for these truths! That we can have joy in Your strength and strength through Your joy. Lord, You alone, are worthy of all honor, all glory, all praise. You have created us, then saved us, and still You are sustaining us. It’s incredible! Your wonderous works are so awesome. You have turned that which the enemy meant for evil into the very gift of salvation! You have reached across time and touched people. Your mercy is astounding and Your grace is amazing. My finite mind cannot begin to grasp the greatness of You. You are Holy, Loving, Sovereign, Good, and Just. You are perfect, there is no flaw, no error, nothing. Lord, when I look at the Word and begin to calculate all You have done, then add in all You are doing, I’m so thankful. “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.” Truly, how great are You, Lord! Amen.

For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14 NKJV

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your Word. Thank You that one day all the Earth will know You. Lord, I am grieved by the ways of wickedness, what lawlessness is doing to the innocent and the helpless. Lord, I know from Your Word, You hate these things even more than I. You strictly warned Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit. Yet, You made a way for mankind to be saved from sin even though we rebelled against Your instruction and brought about all this upon ourselves. How often do we blame You when we are the ones at fault? Yet, I find such hope, such security in Your Word and Your salvation. Lord, I know You are good. You are righteous. You are the only way to eternal life. You have brought so much blessing through those who have committed themselves to You completely. And the good You have in store for Your people is far beyond our understanding. Lord Jesus, I know You are worthy of all praise. Although, I look expectantly towards the day this verse will come true, I can give You all my worship today. Lord, please let me bring glory to Your holy name this day. Thank You. Amen.

2 Samuel 22:47 KJV — The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your Word, which brings us daily encouragement, direction, and truth. Thank You for Your faithfulness throughout the generations. From the very beginning You have been working to build a relationship with us and You paid the highest price to redeem us. Lord, I am astonished when I meditate upon Your incredible blessings, Your mercy and Your grace. Lord, rebellion is a wicked trap, which separates us from You and Your gift of eternal life. No matter what mankind tries to do to hide from You, we are uncovered. Lord, Your love is amazing and Yours is the only salvation. May Your name be exalted in all the Earth! May Your people remain steadfast through adversity and praise You continually. Lord, please let the truth be seen. Lord, thank You for saving me. May my life bring glory to Your name. May my heart never stop praising You. I love You, Jesus. Amen.

Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:14 KJV

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for Your peace. Lord, I love that You tell us to wait upon You. You didn’t create us and then sit back and watch, expecting us to “figure it out”, rather You sent Your messengers, You gave us Your laws, and then You came and walked among us, teaching, healing, exhorting, and finally dieing for us. Then, You rose from the dead, making history and changing our understanding permanently. No longer did people have to fear, for salvation was and is available to all who would believe. Lord, You didn’t even stop there. You went to Heaven to prepare a place for us. You sent Your Holy Spirit to comfort, guide, and direct us through Your Word. You call to us daily, for creation testifies of You continually. Throughout our lives, You are honing us, through the washing of the Word. Lord Jesus, You alone are worthy of all praise, honor, and glory! It is no wonder You say, “wait on the LORD” for only through Your direction can we walk in Your ways. Only in a continual relationship with You can we find peace and perspective. Only in You can we understand what You are calling us to in today. Lord, I wait upon You this morning and I thank You for all Your wonderous works. I love You, Jesus. Amen.

Galatians 2:16 NKJV — “knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.”

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for the scriptures. Lord, thank You for Your Holy Spirit, which comforts and guides. Lord, thank You for showing me my tendency toward this error. Nothing I do will ever be good enough. Only through Your sacrifice can I be saved. Yet, somehow, I still fall prey to the idea that I have to work in order to be righteous. When it’s You that causes me to be righteous and I am honed through the washing of Your Word daily in my life. All my “good works”, done in my own strength, are nothing. Lord, thank You for Your scriptures. Thank You that my value to You is never based on what I accomplish. Thank You, that You never change. You are always good, always loving, always holy. Your ways are perfect and Your truth is life. Lord, I lift up the sick and the hurting, I humbly ask for healing. Lord, I lift up the helpless and the needy and I humbly request You provide and sustain them. Lord, I humbly ask for the prodigal and lost, that they would come to their senses, that the lies they have trusted in would be shown for what they’re worth, and that their hearts would be humbled and they would turn to You. Thank You, Lord, for all that You do each day. Thank You Lord, for who You are. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
