The beginning of a new year

January 1st is a special day in our family.

It’s the day my husband’s mother was born and our precious granddaughter, Joy.

We celebrated with a dinner and an ice cream cake in our home.

And I was reminded how blessed we are.

Every day is a blessing.

Ecclesiastes 3:13 KJV — And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

God’s gifts are good.

James 1:17 KJV — Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Therefore, I’m not looking on this new year with resolutions, just gratitude.

No matter what today brings, God is always worthy of my worship and I want to be continually thankful.

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: Come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100:1‭-‬5 KJV

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for today. Thank You for yesterday. Thank You for both Nana and Joy and the shared birthday. Thank You for the years previous and how You have been working throughout. Lord Jesus, thank You for all You are doing in today. May my life bring glory to Your name and my heart never cease praising You. I love You, Jesus. Thank You for first loving me. Amen.
