One verse

In return for my love they are my accusers, But I give myself to prayer. Psalms 109:4 NKJV

This one verse struck my heart so deeply.

This was true of Jesus.

He healed them.

Matthew 8:16 KJV — When the evening was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

He taught them.

Mark 6:34 KJV — And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

He revealed Himself as their awaited Messiah.

And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Luke 19:36‭-‬38 NKJV

They betrayed Him.

Matthew 27:22 NKJV — Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”

He prayed for them.

Luke 23:34 KJV — Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

But God…

He used their betrayal and sacrificed Himself to bring about the salvation of all.

One verse in Psalms captured the incredible heart of our dear Lord and Savior.

May we praise God for His mercy and unfailing love, as we reflect upon His sacrifice.

May we also respond as He did when faced with the same circumstances of being accused by those we have loved.
