Moving Sale

Job 1:21 KJV — And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

These words speak so deeply of a truth I have a hard time learning.

But I love them.

And I am learning.

Today, we are having a moving sale.

It will be open tomorrow as well and I’m praying for understanding that nothing belongs to me.

No things.

No people.

Not even myself.

Because my tendency is to hold on to stuff.

After as many moves as I’ve had throughout my adult life, I was expecting to find it easy by now.

But it still is a lesson I’m having to put into practice.

Because our new home is much smaller than this one, a lot of things have to go.

But I know it’s for the best.

I trust God with all.

As I stopped for a break in the middle of our preparations, I was struck by the phrase:

“…blessed be the name of the LORD.”

Because that’s what everything comes down to.

God is worthy of all glory, all honor, all praise.

His name is blessed!

Psalm 113:2 KJV — Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your character, which is holy, just, and righteous. Thank You for being worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. Truly, Your name is the greatest treasure. Your salvation the only thing worth clinging to. Thank You for the reminder. I love You, Jesus! Blessed be Your name!! Amen.

Praying for you as you let the excess go – to feel lighter hearted because of it! As I was reading your post, I was thinking of Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”. The “getting rid” is painful, but the freedom that follows is wonderful. Like you, I’ve done some big “everything must go” moves in my life. This is the hard part and this too shall pass!

Thank you so much for your prayers! Yes, very applicable verse for this season. Thank you for sharing it with me. 💗 The Lord is teaching me and reminding me of past lessons throughout this process. I’m so thankful to Him for His faithfulness. His way is perfect and His truth is freedom. Sometimes it is painful, this path of surrender, but it’s always good and worth every sacrifice. 💗 If the Lord places me on your heart today, I’d appreciate prayer for my physical endurance and wisdom to know what to do and what not to. Thank you so much for your comment, your prayers, and your love. 💗 God bless you my friend!

Thank you for your prayers! I was able to make it through the day. We didn’t sell as much as we had expected, but we are trusting the Lord to guide us with what is leftover. Thank you for your prayers.💗

I was going to ask how you held up! I’m so glad to hear you were strong enough to endure. I am sure God has a plan for the leftover furniture. And I believe He will guide you in line with that plan. 😉 Happy Lord’s Day!

Remember in moving that there were people who had to sacrifice and let go of everything they had because they were going to walk where Jesus walked ministering to all. that can really take a toll on some if they have to get past that part. Praying always helps! I am moving soon & have to get rid of everything I have just to go to a new place where everything is furnished. Such a great thing to know that nothing is ours through the eyes of God!

Amen to that! Nothing is ours, we are simply stewards of God’s. I pray your move goes smoothly. We’ve moved several times and I can totally relate to what you said about getting rid of it all to follow Christ. I love this verse: So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”
Luke 18:29‭-‬30 NKJV Thank you for your time and comment! God bless!
