Things which encourage me

Prayer.

Daily Bible reading.

Meat and drink to my soul and spirit.

The English language has vast volumes on the benefits of both.

There are many tools, techniques, and teachings upon either.

Yet, simply doing, has been an encouragement to me.

This week I had a night full of nightmares.

One after another.

I woke and prayed and went back to sleep and had yet another.

I finally gave up and just lay in bed and prayed.

When my husband’s alarm went off I got out my Bible.

My uneasiness melted as I read verse after cleansing verse.

By the time I was to start my day, nothing lingered from the night.

Praise and thanksgiving were with me all day.

Nothing compares to the courage I have when immersed in prayer and hearing my Lord speak through His Word.

It boils down to this:

Nothing compares to Jesus.

Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
Psalms 112:4 NKJV
