This giant leaf fort was compiled completely by the 3 sitting in it.
Their instructions had been to clean up the leaves and deposit them in the compost.
Yet as I watched the pile turn into a creation I allowed the kids to adjust the instructions and enjoy their project.
Yes they will still have to obey and place the leaves in the compost but it was a stretch to think outside the to do list and let them be kids.
However courage is something more.
Courage in the Bible is being focused on following through with the instructions God gave all the way till the end.
God tells Joshua,
“Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. ” Joshua 1:6-7
The first section of be strong and courageous was to follow through with the instructions God had given for leading the people into the Promised Land.
The second strong and courageous had to do with the law, they were to read and follow God’s Word.
We are equally challenged.
Each of us were created with a specific and special place to fill, people to love, and tasks to complete.
None are the same, because God doesn’t make copies, each person is an individual masterpiece.
I know the tasks God has given me, and they frequently change and move because God is always at work showing me times and seasons.
I know God has given me the Bible to read, study, and apply for it takes the Word to hone my character, to supply wisdom for each day, and to sharpen my perspective.
How about you?
Do you know the people God has called you to love?
Do you know the tasks He has created you for?
Do you see the need for courage and strength in your everyday?
Grab your sword (the Word of God: Eph. 6:17) and
be strong and very courageous!
God wants to be with you through all He has called and created you to do.
So for you
what is courage?
