Words of wisdom

Often it is difficult
to
find
the best
words.

What is to be said when hearing of tragedy?

Which words are chosen to comfort the broken?

How is wisdom to be spread when meaning is lost in the sentence?

Speaking with my Mom – in – law today about the struggles of knowing how to guide our children.

She agreed it is difficult
to
know
what to say
and
when to
keep silent.

Knowing how to deal with growing bodies
and relationships
and learning
disabilities
and still holding
on to the joy
of
childhood.

Discerning the times to
step in and save
or to allow choices
to teach
a lesson.

Letting go of the past
and my dreams of
our children’s
future
and
allowing
God to guide.

I am so thankful
that I don’t have
to know it
all.

I am not
the one responsible
for the wisdom.

I have only to seek it myself
and pass it on
to those behind me.

For the tragedy, I can pray.
For the broken,  I can relate Jesus’ love for each of us.
For the wisdom,  I can simply say,
“Let’s see what the Bible says about this problem.”

For the Bible was right.

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding.”
Proverbs 3:13
