Try

20130413_154458

A breath taken

Neck stretched

Arms stretched

Loosen up all the muscles

Take your mark

AND

Run

Down a narrow path, lined out by someone else

Nearing the end

Obstacle

Jump over it

Obstacle

Jump over it

One more breath

JUMP

It’s over

The mark is taken and the chance to compete all finished in a few short seconds.

“Well done,” says Dad.

“As long as you gave it your all, and you DID, you have nothing to be ashamed of.”

“I’m proud of you sweet heart!” I smile.

She smiles.

Siblings smile.

It is that way in life as well.

We can prepare for the race.

We can stretch out all of our muscles by loving when it is hard, forgiving when it isn’t asked for, choosing to do the right thing in the face of persecution.

We can realize the Word of God is our guide showing us how to run, the terms of the race and where to look for obstacles.

And we must

TRY

every day without giving up.

For along beside us are others who are running as well.

Mentors, brothers and sisters in Christ, even the ones who will run after us,

Cheering

Encouraging

Praying

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1

I love your posts relating our walk with Christ to sports. It makes it so easy to grasp. Thank God for YOU 🙂

I praise God that He’s helping me to get the point across. After all, I am nothing without Him and He’s truths are so worth sharing. God bless you!

I also love how she relates our lives with the Lord in sports. I think that is another reason why I love sports so much. It gives me an example of how to follow and strive to the Lord. It also mixes in something I love and puts it in perspective.
